The Vanza Mandal Management Committee and Trustees would like to update you all with the following.
 
Jyotiben Wadhia has now taken the post of Acting Treasurer and Miteshbhai Makwana has taken the role of Acting Assistant Treasurer.
 
We would like to thank Arvindbhai Jadav for all of his help and support as Treasurer and pleased that he will still remain as a Committee Member moving forward.

Navratri 2024

We are sharing again, in advance, the programme for this year, so you have plenty of time to plan, prepare and get involved.

This year, following positive feedback received, we will be having a Live Band again for all 7 nights!
 
To take part in any of the activities listed below, please speak to any Committee Member, or Trustee or send us an email at info@vanzamandal.com
Please state your name/s which activity or activities you wish to register for and which age category you belong to, where applicable.
 
Location – East Ham Town Hall, Barking Road, East Ham, London, E6 2RP
 
Snacks will be available daily to purchase.
 
Thursday 3rd October 2024 – 1st Day
Time: 7:30 – 11:30pm
 
Friday 4th October 2024 – Fancy Dress for Children & Adults
Time: 7.30 - 11.30pm.

Fancy Dress – Please come dressed up as something relating to Navratri, Diwali or something religious or cultural.


You can get changed into your costume at the hall. 
Everyone taking part must arrive by and be ready in their costume by 9:30pm

NB – Any costumes being offensive, promote violence or are culturally inappropriate, will not be accepted or tolerated by the Management Committee, and you will not be able to take part.  

To register your entry, please email info@vanzamandal.com with your name, age, and what you will be dressing up as. All entries must be received by Thursday 3rd October 2024.
 
Saturday 5th October 2024 – Childrens Aarti
Time: 7.30 – 11.30pm
Aarti time: 9.30pmChildrens Aarti – Children 16 years old and under are invited to decorate their own Aarti plate and perform the Aarti. Aarti plates will also be available free of charge to those children who wish to take part but don’t want to decorate their own.

We would like to take photos of everyone who wishes to decorate their plate and bring on the day. If you do not wish your child to have their photos taken then please let us know on the day.

To register your child or children taking part, please email info@vanzamandal.com by letting us know their name, age and if they will bring their own decorated plate or if they will need a plate on the day. 
Please register your child or children by Friday 4th October 2024.
 
Sunday 6th October 2024- Decorate your Garbo, Dandiya or a Cultural Item Showcase
Time: 7.30 – 11.30pmWe invite all children and adults to decorate a garbo, dandiyas, Aarti plates or any religious or cultural Navratri related item and be part of the Vanza Mandal showcase.
Please email info@vanzamandal.com to register and let us know your name, age and item you will be decorating to be part of the showcase.
Please register by Saturday 5th October 2024.
Please arrive no later than 9pm with your decorated item.
 
Thursday 10th October 2024 – 108 Aarti 
Time: 7.30 – 11.30pm
Aarti Time 10.15pm
Members are welcome to bring their own Aarti plate to take part in the 108 Aarti. We can also provide Aarti plates to those who require them. Please note, whether you bring your own or we provide the plates, a £10 donation will still be asked from you to take part in the auspicious ceremony. 
Please register your name in advance or during one of the days leading up to it, and let us know if you will be bringing your own plate or you will need Vanza Mandal to provide one. 
Please email info@vanzamandal.com or register at the Treasurers desk during Navratri.
If you would like to take part in this year’s Garbo, please let a committee member know or email info@vanzamandal.com with your name and phone number, letting us know you wish to take part in the Garbo. This is open to all. Please do not forget to bring in your garbo on this day, if you have one.
 
 
Friday 11th October 2024 – Sponsored Garba Marathon
Time: 7:30 – 11:30pm

Vanza Mandal invites and encourages both children and adults to participate in our sponsored Garba Marathon.

Download your sponsorship form from our by clicking here or please email info@vanzamandal.com and we can email you the details and the form.

We hope as many of you can take part and support in raising money for Vanza Mandal.

If you wish to take part, email info@vanzamandal.com letting us know your name and contact details and we will send you a participant number to confirm you are taking part. Please also let us know if you would like to take part in completing 1 garbo, 2 garbo’s or 3 garbo’s, non-stop.

All participants must arrive by 8.00pm.
To Register, please confirm by Sunday 6th October 2024.
 
Saturday 12th October 2024 – Sharad Poonam, Presentations & Raffle Draw
Time: 7.30 – 11.00pm. 

If you, like us cannot wait for Navratri to begin, why not head over to our Facebook Group and watch the videos and photos from last year’s Navratri celebrations.

 Volunteering During Navratri
 
We are seeking volunteers to help out at our biggest event of the year. If you would like to and can support and volunteer during Navratri, please email us on info@vanzamandal.com or, speak with any committee member or trustee and share what you are interested in. You could support with decorating the hall, supporting us on the food stall, helping with the smooth running of daily activities or something different. If you wish to help, then we welcome your assistance and will be greatly appreciated.

Donations
 
As you are aware, we have a huge expense in having Navratri at East Ham Town Hall.

If you would like to contribute towards the cost of the Navratri celebrations this year, then please do email us at info@vanzamandal.com or speak to a committee member or trustee before or during any of the nights.

You may wish to sponsor individually or, contribute an amount together with your family or friends, or donate/sponsor anonymously towards:

East Ham Town Hall Hire – £750 per night

Live Music Daily cost £1000 per night

Milkshake – Donation £25

Cost of the food per evening – £150 per night

Sponsors of Raffle Prizes –

Please get in touch to check which prizes still need a sponsor.

General Donations – All welcome.
 
Without your generous support and donations, we cannot run events such as Navratri, which you all love, so please donate, if you can, Vanza Mandal warmly welcomes your kind donations.
