Management Committee
With the grace of Hingrajmaa and Guru Gopalal the duly elected members and Trustees would like to draw your attention to the following Management Committee structure. As previously mentioned the duly selected members (Nilaben Solanki, Hasubhai Kamothi and Rasikbhai Chavda) together with the Trustees were asked to form a new Management Committee for approval at the next Vanza Mandal event (date to be confirmed).

Jai Gopal
Bhartiben Makwana one our current Trustees has recently resigned from her post.
Bhartiben has and is a long time supporter of Vanza Mandal carrying out several roles Trustee, Secretary and Committee Member.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Bhartiben for her continuous and ongoing support.
In light of this resignation The Management Committee and Trustees have appointed Rashmi Laljibhai Makwana as a Trustee.
We welcome him and look forward to working with Rashmibhai.
Further updates regarding the Management Committee will be communicated as soon as we can.

At the Vanza Mandal Annual General meeting held on 29 March 2026 the Management Committee's term of office came to an end and the Committee was dissolved with a view to forming a new Committee.
I presided as the Chair for the Election. Three positions were duly elected (nominated and seconded by those members present). these were as follows.
President Nilaben Solanki
Treasurer Hasubhai Kamothi
Assistant Treasurer Rashikbhai Chavda
Whilst attempts were made to fill the following positions no one came forward.
Vice President
Secretary
Assistant Secretary
6 Committee Members.
With reference to our Constitution it states, Vanza Mandal 'shall' have 6 office bearers and 6 Committee members (Not Must).
The rules under part 9, 2011; of the Charities Commission Act clearly indicates that a charity can move forward with 3 elected Office Bearers.
Once a new Committee is in place I recommend that our Constitution is reviewed and any ambiguity removed.
This left the Mandal with 3 options.
The First, to hand back the Management to the Trustees with a view to dissolving Vanza Mandal.
The second, option was to call another meeting and hold an election.
The third, option was to allow the Trustees and those duly elected to go away and form a committee with a view to getting them approved at the next event.
A vote was taken of those present as to which option to take to move the Mandal forward.
No one wanted to dissolve the Mandal, there was no guarantee that if a further General Meeting was held that it would succeed in forming a committee.
Option 3 was unanimously accepted which was to allow the duly elected members and Trustees to form a new committee.
(Note this option has been used before in the early 2000's when the Management was handed back to the Trustees and a new committee formed).
There has been a lot of discussion around the need for another meeting, however the vote at the AGM gave the mandate to form a new committee with in two months and present them at the next event for approval.
In the instance that a committee is not formed then a Special General Meeting will be called.

Navratri 2025 has come around so quickly and our 1st day starts this Friday!
We are sharing again, in advance, the programme for this year, so you have plenty of time to plan, prepare and get involved.
This year, following positive feedback received, we will be having a Live Band again for all 5 nights!

Vanza Mandal invites and encourages both children and adults to participate in our sponsored Garba Marathon. Download your sponsorship form from our website www.vanzamandal.com or please email info@vanzamandal.com and we can email you the details and the form. We hope as many of you can take part and support in raising money for Vanza Mandal.
If you wish to take part, email info@vanzamandal.com letting us know your name and contact details and we will send you a participant number to confirm you are taking part. Please also let us know if you would like to take part in completing 1 garbo, 2 garbo’s or 3 garbo’s, non-stop.
All participants must arrive by 8.00pm.

Sunday 28th September 2025 - Children's Aarti
Time: 2pm-6pm
Please note the change in time for this day!Childrens Aarti – Children 12 years old and under are invited to decorate their own Aarti plate and perform the Aarti. Aarti plates will also be available free of charge to those children who wish to take part but don’t want to decorate their own.
We would like to take photos of everyone who wishes to decorate their plate and bring on the day. If you do not wish your child to have their photos taken then please let us know on the day.
To register your child or children taking part, please email info@vanzamandal.com by letting us know their name, age and if they will bring their own decorated plate or if they will need a plate on the day.

Monday 29th September 2025 – 108 Aarti
Time: 7.30 – 11.30pm
Aarti Time 10.15pmMembers are welcome to bring their own Aarti plate to take part in the 108 Aarti. We can also provide Aarti plates to those who require them. Please note, whether you bring your own or we provide the plates, a £10 donation will still be asked from you to take part in the auspicious ceremony.
Please register your name in advance or during one of the days leading up to it, and let us know if you will be bringing your own plate or you will need Vanza Mandal to provide one.

Volunteering During Navratri
We are seeking volunteers to help out at our biggest event of the year. If you would like to and can support and volunteer during Navratri, please email us on info@vanzamandal.com or, speak with any committee member or trustee and share what you are interested in. You could support with decorating the hall, supporting us by helping with the smooth running of daily activities or something different. If you wish to help, then we welcome your assistance and will be greatly appreciated.
Donations
As you are aware, we have a huge expense in having Navratri at East Ham Town Hall. If you would like to contribute towards the cost of the Navratri celebrations this year, then please do email us on info@vanzamandal.com or speak to a committee member or trustee before or during any of the nights.
You may wish to sponsor individually or, contribute an amount together with your family or friends, or donate/sponsor anonymously towards:

Without your generous support and donations, we cannot run events such as Navratri, which you all love, so please donate, if you can, Vanza Mandal warmly welcomes your kind donations.
General Reminder & Car Parking
Please ensure that you do not take drinks into the main hall. Please drink them in the foyer and put the used cups in the bins provided.
Please keep your children supervised at all times.
Over the last couple of years, we have had some car parking issues caused by our members. These have been issues which has related in verbal abuse given to the car park staff. This type of behaviour will not be tolerated and appropriate action will be taken where required. We have worked very hard to try and accommodate the additional parking for our members, so please do respect the staff when they speak to you, so that we can all enjoy a safe, secure and auspicious Navratri celebrations together, marking our 49th year.
